Greetings everyone!
Orphan directed
by Jaume Collet-Serra managed to bring the horror out to scare the audiences.
If all the movies I’ve watched are predictable, this one is not. This
family-themed movie showed how important the value of trustworthy is. This deeply-moving,
horror and psycho movie is a success on my eye
The kids’ acting
are really incredible and talented. Honestly, I don’t really understand where
this movie is taken me. I know at the first place, there is something with
Esther, the girl Kate and John Coleman wanted to adopt. she is so nice that
made me had the thought of “why on earth she is so lovely and mysterious?” at
the end, it revealed who is Esther truly are.
Here is the
synopsis from imdb ; Kate and John Coleman are rebuilding their troubled
marriage. Kate had a drinking problem, but is in therapy and is doing well. She
has been sober for one year. The couple decide to adopt a child. When they meet
the nine-year-old Russian girl, Esther, at the St. Marina Orphanage, they
immediately fall in love with the well-educated orphan. Their young son,
Daniel, is hostile to his new sister; but their deaf daughter, little Max, is
enchanted with her - at first. Eventually, Kate begins to feel that Esther is
manipulative and possibly even psychologically disturbed. John refuses to
listen to his wife's misgivings, and the wounds in their marriage reopen. Kate
calls Sister Abigail at the orphanage, and the nun informs her that Esther has
a troubled and mysterious history. Kate delves further into Esther's past and
discovers she is not all she pretends to be.
I am somehow
afraid with Esther as she was like fearless. She’ll do anything to get what she
wanted, literally anything. Previous cases with different family, she burnt
down the house and killed the whole family. The innocent in the outside but
vein inside.
Frankly
speaking, it is not that easy for a twelve years old Isabelle Fuhrman to play
such heavy character. She’s even lie connected with other characters.
