"Slumdog Millionaire is one of the most critically acclaimed movies of 2008 but the hype surrounding it is a bit undeserved. Don't get me wrong, this is at the very least a good movie and is quite a terrific movie 2/3 the way through. What the movie does though in the last 1/3 is make the fatal mistake of turning into a Hollywood or maybe in this case a Bollywood movie. It takes away from that genuine and satisfying feeling."--quoted from imdb. I cannot recall how much I’ve repeated this movie. Amazing, brilliant and heart-throbbing. The first movie which make me wonder its either family value or the friendship value is the most important?

Based on the synopsis by imdb ; The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's Kaun Banega Crorepati? (2000) (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?) But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions. Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible quizzes.                 The acting of the child version of Dev Patel really amazing as I can see they were connected. In the starting of the movie, it shows the real struggle and the real issues of Indian Muslims. They were killed and so that’s why Jamal and his brother lost his mother and had to make the living by themselves. They do absurd things just to keep themselves alive.

                The friendship value between Jamal and Latika is really incredible. They were friends since kids and separated from the orphan house. Through the game, Jamal searched for Latika and found her. They were fall in love. By the time Jamal won the game, his brother dead of the conflicts that actually made up by himself.

                The unique part of the movie is which the certain questions of the game are actually really happened in Jamal’s life. He is not brilliant nor intelligent. Its experience who taught Jamal.
