Greetings everyone!

What Maisie Knew was released in 2012, this movie shows the reality of family institution nowadays. It was adapted from a novel entitled What Maisie Knew by Henry James. This movie starred with Alexander Skarsgard, Julianne Moore and the amazing Onata Aprile.

This is definitey the best movie about divorce and child custody I’ve ever seen. It’s actually really sweet and real feeling, mostly because you really identify with the little girl Maisie. All the adult actors are great and bright. Lincoln portrayed by Alexander Skarsgard seems like a loser on his first appearance, but he ends up being super loving and adorable.

The real conflict in this movie is between the mummy and the daddy (Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan). The mummy whom busy with the concert tour and the daddy whom busy with the work. I can’t really defined their problem but what I can say is they are being irrelevant, irrational and egoist. Actually they never think of Maisie, they just thinking about themselves. They were like fighting each other to win the child custody but ended up neglected the child.

Maisie, portrayed by Onata Aprile have a really amazing talent. I can define Maisie as a strong, wise, independent and too matured for her age. She never rebel of what has happened on her, and she still love both of her parents after all what they have done. I can say that the movie was a successful due to her acting.

In the middle of the mess, Maisie rely on the former nanny which has been his stepmother Margo and her stepfather Lincoln. She found the happiness in them even in the littlest thing. At the end of the story, I really hope this is not the end because it was too beautiful. I want to see how Maisie’s life going on with her new parents Margo and Lincoln, since her parents left her.

Haters are going to hate, but I think anyone would relate to this film about parents, kids, and finding people to love.

Bye!
